Black Caviar scorches the Caulfield turf

Peter Moody’s unbeaten champion mare Black Caviar (in the red silks) easily won a jump-out at Caulfield racecourse on Tuesday.

The recently awarded champion racehorse of the year-performed super in her hit-out in the trial also including the Anthony Cummings smart three-year old, Smart Missile.

The Bel Esprit mare was the last to leave the barriers but quickly strode up to head the pack after just over a furlong. By the turn, Luke Nolen was standing up in the saddle and in cruise control heading to the winning post. None of the other runners were pushed out either.

Black Caviar clocked 46.21 seconds over the 800 metres. She will return in the Group 2 Schillaci Stakes (5 furlongs) at Caulfield on 8 October 2011.
