The Bel Esprit mare was the last to leave the barriers but quickly strode up to head the pack after just over a furlong. By the turn, Luke Nolen was standing up in the saddle and in cruise control heading to the winning post. None of the other runners were pushed out either.
Black Caviar clocked 46.21 seconds over the 800 metres. She will return in the Group 2 Schillaci Stakes (5 furlongs) at Caulfield on 8 October 2011.
